Electronics Engineer - Wind Energy
The Role:The role involves the design and development of innovative new instrumentation and control systems for wind-powered generation systems.
Ideal Candidate
Essential:
Analogue and digital circuit design, prototyping, debugging, & manufacture for instrumentation/monitoring and light power (10W) applications;
Selection & programming of embedded microprocessors (e.g. PIC);
Multilayer circuit designs of up to 1W;
PCB layouts;
Common communication protocols (RS232 / 485 / NMEA / Ethernet / CAN);
Integrate into telecoms including M2M solutions; Loggers;
Compression;
Software (Basic, Pascal,C, C ; );
Desirable:
Up to 100W low voltage power electronics;
ZigBee;
Internet data processing;
UL and CE certification inc EMC compliance;
SPICE models;
Formal optimisation techniques;
MatLab-Simulink; Labview;
Test fixture design;
Technical documentation abilities;
Embedded USB interfaces;
ISO 9000 environment;
BEng or BSc or equivalent
A distinct advantage:
Up to 1000W power electronics;
Sine wave grid-tie inverter design;
Wind turbine design;
IEE or IEEE member; CEng.
